As we go about our business, we collect and record some of your data. We’ve explained how we use it here, but if you have any questions drop a note to hello@yarncopy.co.uk.

What we collect and why
Your personal data, specifically your first name, last name and email address, is only collected when you subscribe to the Loose Threads, our email newsletter. We’ll then use that data to tell you about projects, events, services, agency news, and other copy-related things you might like. When you visit our website, some of your information is collected automatically. There’s more on that in ‘Cookies’ and ‘Analytics’.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your computer that help websites work more effectively. This website uses cookies to gather information using Google Analytics (see ‘Analytics’) and to show fonts correctly (see ‘Google Web Fonts’.)
If you like, you can change your settings in your browser stop cookies from being downloaded onto your computer. Keep in mind, though, that this website then won’t work as well as it should.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to give us an idea of how people use our website. This includes the number of times you’ve dropped by, how long you stayed, and the number of pages you visited. This tells us how people move around the site and how we could make it better. See Google’s Privacy Policy for more information.
Google Web Fonts
This page uses web fonts provided by Google. When you open a page, your browser loads the web fonts into your computer to display those fonts correctly.
To do that, your browser has to connect directly with Google servers. Google then knows our web page was accessed via your IP address. We use Google Web fonts in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our plugin. In legal terms, ‘This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.’
If your browser doesn’t support web fonts, your computer will use a standard font instead.
There’s more information about handling user data here and in Google’s Privacy Policy.
Who we share your data with
We’ll never share your data with anyone else without your permission. If we need to share your data, like your name and email address, with a collaborator so we can work together on your project, we’ll always tell you first. And while it should go without saying, we’ll never sell your data for marketing or advertising purposes, either.
If you sign up for Loose Threads, our email newsletter, your data will be shared and stored with a third-party provider, Mailchimp. Just so you know, Mailchimp’s servers are in the United States; view the Mailchimp Privacy Policy for more information on how they use and secure their data.
If you’re not happy with Mailchimp for any reason, or don’t want them to have your data, unsubscribe from Loose Threads using the link at the bottom of each newsletter. You can email us at hello@yarncopy.co.uk too.
How long we keep your data
We’ll keep the personal data you provide us with until you tell us otherwise.
What rights you have over your data
You can ask for an exported file of all of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also ask us to delete any data we hold about you, and tell us not to contact you in the future. Be aware, though, that this doesn’t include any data we have to keep for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
How we protect your information
Ultimately, any information provided over the internet isn’t secure and might be routed through other countries outside the European Union. However, we do all we can to make sure that any data you provide is treated respectfully and securely.
